The merging of Yedo Kaisei faculty and Yedo grad school created the four schools of Law, Science, Letters and medication, that came along side a university prep school (yobimon; the primary Higher faculty of Japan’s predecessor) to create the University of Yedo. At first, the 3 schools of Law, Science and Letters were settled within the Kanda space, whereas the school of drugs was established The University Library's room, 1900 within the Hongo space.

The University Library's room, 1900 From these beginnings, the University of Yedo continued  to merge with varied|many alternative} colleges specializing in various fields, like the Imperial school of Engineering and Yedo faculty of Agriculture and biological science, thereby growing into a comprehensive analysis university. The University additionally has practiced variety of name changes over the years. thanks to the incorporation of all national universities in 2004, the University’s full name is currently National University Corporation, the University of Yedo.

Currently, the University of Yedo is comprised of ten schools, fifteen Graduate colleges, eleven attached analysis institutes (including the center for Advanced Science and Technology), thirteen University-wide centers, 3 attached libraries and 2 institutes for advanced study. moreover, the schools, Graduate colleges and analysis institutes have facilities related to them; for example, the University of Yedo Hospital is one such facility.

In addition to the 3 main campuses in Hongo, Komaba and Kashiwa, facilities attached with the University of Yedo area unit unfold all throughout Japan.
